Sharity has voluntarily filed for Chapter 11 protection under the United States Bankruptcy Code on July 8, 2021. Since that time, the decision has been made that it is in the best interest of our members to cease operations effective immediately. Accordingly, we will not be able to facilitate sharing requests or continue to provide service of any kind to members subject to the following.

Specific to member needs, there are three areas of attention that we are currently working to address:

1. Providing alternative options
2. Addressing member contributions made after the bankruptcy filing on July 8, 2021
3. Addressing outstanding sharing requests

Providing alternative options
We have coordinated with two of the oldest, largest, and most respected Health Care Sharing Ministries in the country—Christian Healthcare Ministries (CHM) and Samaritan Ministries—and both organizations have agreed to consider applications for membership into their sharing ministries.

CHM has provided a link HERE allowing you to gather more information about the ministry’s programs and/or apply if you choose to do so.

Samaritan has provided a link HERE allowing you to gather more information about the ministry’s programs and/or apply if you choose to do so.

Alternatively, you might consider a more traditional health insurance arrangement through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), because the Federal Open Enrollment has been extended through August 15, 2021. For more information about ACA plans, coverage, and benefits, you may visit www.healthcare.org

Status of member contributions
Regarding our ability to provide refunds, we are still assessing what can be done as this is subject to court approval. We will be seeking permission from the court potentially to refund member contributions received after the bankruptcy filing on July 8, 2021. However, we are not able to provide any additional information at this time. We will provide any updates here via the website and encourage you to check back here for any new information. In the meantime, we are working to disable future recurring ongoing contributions (whether by automatic funds transfer or credit card) but also recommend that you cancel your recurring contribution on your own.

Addressing sharing requests
Unfortunately, Sharity will no longer be able to facilitate any sharing requests. Members should know that no sharing requests will be honored and should plan accordingly with this unfortunate situation in mind.
