Happy New Year!
We hope you all were able to celebrate safely with your friends and family this past holiday season. Amidst the chaos, we hope you remembered the reason for the season, our Savior! Now that the new year is here, many are beginning to make New Year’s resolutions. Are you finding it difficult to choose the right resolution for you? Choosing to do the will of God is the most important resolution you can make. Are you longing to strengthen your relationship with the Lord? Make one of your resolutions this year to spend more time with Christ and strengthen your relationship with Him.
A few tips to achieve your goal or to help motivate you are listed below:
- Scripture can often be overwhelming at times. Develop a schedule or time during the day designated to studying devotionals and the Bible, or just simply spending time with the Lord. Even just 15-20 minutes a day can be beneficial in reaching your goal.
- Find an accountability partner to encourage you and motivate you to stick with your goal throughout the year. Set up a time once a week to get together with a friend or family member and have a Bible study!
- Read Christian literature more often. The more you read and learn about God, the better your relationship with Him. A few of our favorite Christian books are linked below:
New Year’s resolutions are a great way to change old habits and have something to look forward to throughout the year. Once you set a plan or make a schedule for yourself, your goals and resolutions will be more manageable and attainable. Plan to serve others faithfully and glorify God in the New Year.
