Chris Sizemore, Chairman
Creative Mischief, Founder & CEO

Chris Sizemore is the CEO of the award-winning, Atlanta-based branding & marketing agency, Creative Mischief. He sits on the advisory board of Citizens Trust Bank, the board of governors of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and the board of directors and the executive committee of United Way of Greater Atlanta. Past leadership roles include board positions with the Legal Marketing Association and the American Marketing Association. He has been awarded as one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s and Georgia Trend’s 40 under 40 honorees, and played a key role in the passage of the Safe Harbor Yes Amendment for Sexually Exploited Children. He joined the Sharity Ministries Board in October 2019, and became chairman in January 2020.

Rip Thead, Member
Sharity Ministries, CEO

William “Rip” Thead brings a lifetime of experiences as an entrepreneur running several start-up businesses nationwide in the medical products industry. He is an active member of his church having served on numerous committees over the past 20 years, as well as having served as the president of the UMM for his church. He was chosen as the ministry’s CEO at its inception in June 2018. He immediately joined the Sharity Ministries Board as its chairman, and served in that capacity until January 2020.

Joe Guarino, Member

Joe Guarino is the former director of government relations for the Alliance of Health Care Sharing Ministries (AHCSM). While with the AHCSM, Guarino led the negotiations with Congress which landed an exemption from the individual mandate to purchase health insurance in the Affordable Care Act for members of HCSMs. He also lobbied for or oversaw the lobbying of the passage of safe-harbor laws for the HCSMs in more than a dozen states. Over the past quarter century, Guarino has also advocated successfully for home educators and natural health practitioners. He has served on the boards of a political organization and a youth ministry. He was tapped to lead the ministry in July 2019, and joined the Sharity Ministries Board in August 2019.

Joe Handy, Treasurer
National Black MBA Association, President and CEO

Joe Handy is the executive director of the National Black MBA Foundation. Just prior, he was the president of the Georgia Aquarium Foundation, having served just before that as Georgia Aquarium’s President and Chief Operating Officer since 2017. He brings a strong history of leadership within the organization to this role, along with more than 20 years of experience in cultural institutions. Joe has been heavily involved in the community. He serves on the Kennesaw State University Foundation Board of Trustees and its Strategic Planning Committee; the Advisory Boards of KSU Business School, Central Atlanta Progress, the Morehouse Leadership Honor Society; and the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Advisors at the Metro Atlanta Chamber. He received the Atlanta Business League 2018 Men of Influence Award; the Georgia Senate Remarkable and Distinguished Georgian Resolution, March 2019; the ICABA – Atlanta’s Leading Influencers Award, May 2019; and the Secretary of State’s Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award, July 2019. He is a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class 2019, and in early 2020 was announced as Chairman of the Board for Fulton County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA). He joined the Sharity Ministries Board in late January 2020.

Stephen Vault, Secretary
Wellstar Health System, Vice President of Strategic Community Development and Community Affairs

Stephen Vault sits on several local boards, including those of 100 Black Men of North Metro, Inc., the Georgia Alliance for Health Literacy, and the Next Generation Advisory Board for Citizens Trust Bank, one of the nation’s oldest and largest minority-owned financial institutions. His work and service have garnered him numerous accolades. He was the recipient of the 2017 Hyatt Herald Award for outstanding community service, and a 40 Under 40 Award winner by both the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Georgia Trend magazines. He joined the Sharity Ministries Board in late January 2020.
