Regardless of a person’s age, keeping up with regular preventive health care is a wise choice. With the Sharity Wellness program level, many basic health care needs are eligible for sharing, including the occasional trip to an urgent care.
What Sharity Wellness Provides
Whether a person is just starting off in life or nearing retirement age, a program offering sharing eligibility for basic health care is important. With a basic cost-sharing program, members make monthly contributions and have sharing eligibility for an array of services, such as preventive care, primary care, urgent care, lab work and diagnostics, maternity*, and chronic maintenance. Once the member’s $500 Member Shared Responsibility Amount (MSRA) is met, along with the member’s monthly contribution, these program features are available at no additional costs to the member.
Sharity Wellness Focuses on Quality Primary Care
With monthly contributions, Sharity Wellness members are eligible to share doctor’s office visits for primary care, urgent care, specialty care, maternity and lab work at participating network facilities without paying consult fees. There is no cap on visits.
Most routine immunizations and vaccines are given in the office at the time of the visit without additional charge. Plus, annual physicals are available with no additional costs.
Affordable Health Care Through the Reduction of Redundancy and Cost
The monthly contributions for Sharity Wellness members vary depending on the program level that is chosen, the age of the primary member, and the number of dependents. In order to keep costs down, members are encouraged to remain healthy throughout the year and keep up with a preventive care schedule, including screenings, immunizations and flu shots. All lab work and diagnostics are included at primary and urgent care facilities.
Sharity Wellness is Not a Traditional Medical Plan
This program is not health insurance nor is it offered by an insurance company. It is designed to aid the member in navigating the health care system in a cost-effective and meaningful way. It is not intended to cover hospitalization or other major medical needs but rather to provide the services that most of us need and can afford.
The Pros and Cons of Sharity Wellness
Sharity Wellness has both advantages and disadvantages. With the lower cost in monthly contributions and no consult fees, members can set aside the monthly savings to help offset the times when larger, unexpected medical expenses hit.
Since Sharity Wellness doesn’t include sharing eligibility for hospitalization, many members might choose to opt for a more robust program, such as Sharity Spectrum, or to add on another program level, such as Sharity Secure, both of which offer sharing of hospitalization.
Making decisions about health care is extremely important. You don’t have to sacrifice quality for monthly cost. With Sharity Wellness, members have the power to access quality health care at a price they can afford.
*For maternity sharing, pre-natal and post-natal care are only included at a physician’s office. Childbirth/delivery is not eligible for sharing.
